Bart Simpson and Banksy: A Pair of Mischief Makers

This Sunday British street artist, Banksy, lent his talent to iconic TV family "The Simpsons" for a controversial opening sequence. Tagging buildings and billboards throughout the show's credits, Banksy injects his signature subversion with commentary on consumer culture, animal mistreatment, and child labor. The real surprise is that FOX allowed such a self-critical piece to air on prime time television (perhaps in response to reports that the show outsources much of its production to a company in South Korea), but executive producers appear pleased with both the outcome, and the attention. In typical Banksy fashion, this public social critique is bound to create a buzz in the pop culture world.
