de Castellane's “Fleurs d’excès”
PARIS - Opening March 2nd Victoire de Castellane will exhibit her new jewelry collection “Fleurs d’excès” (Flowers of Excess) with a show at Gagosian Gallery. Known for her candy-colored creations, the project mines all of the hallucinogenic allusions from her earlier work to create complete pharmacopeia that blurs distinctions between the real and the artificial, the beautiful and the grotesque. Inlaid with rubies, diamonds, jade and more, the intoxicating gold and silver pieces personify the romantic idea of women “under the influence.”

Livin' the Dream with Banksy
Infamous street artist Banksy has been popping up across LA this week. Following a stencil of a boy soldier armed with crayons in Westwood and a mischievous Charlie Brown in Hollywood, Banksy’s latest installment “Livin’ the Dream” portrays a strung-out Mickey and Minnie Mouse partying with a model advertised on a prominent Sunset Boulevard billboard. Or rather, we should say portrayed—unfortunately, the mural was torn down earlier today, and six-figures worth of art apparently ended up crumpled in the back of a truck. The photo above preserves the history!

Rachel Feinstein's Snow Queen
Rachel Feinstein’s installation “The Snow Queen” is now open at the Lever House in New York. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s 1845 fairy tale and spurred by her interest in architecture, rooms, and symbols of Old World culture, Feinstein creates her own magical universe through themes of fantasy, ruin, and beauty. The exhibit will remain on view through April 22nd.
