Alexander McQueen Dresses to be Auctioned at Bonhams

Two Alexander McQueen dresses are to be auctioned off at Bonhams, Knightsbridge on June 30, as part of the Vision 21 sale. The dresses, some of the first to be auctioned off since McQueen's death in February, are from the designer's ready-to-wear collection for autumn/winter 2007. This particular collection was inspired by the Salem Witch trials of 1692—an event one of McQueen's ancestors was tragically involved in, being burnt at the stake. These two dresses, each one of a kind, are expected to be sold for £30,000.

Britney took to Twitterverse to "announce" her unexpected collaboration with Takashi Murakami. The exact details of the collaboration are still developing (her manager has hinted at a photo shoot), but our minds are running Crazy with ideas. With Takashi's vision and Britney's unpredictable history, it's safe to bet that we are in for quite the ride.

The Face of Kanye's New Single: Provided by George Conde

Kanye West just released the artwork for his new single "Power" off of his album "Good Ass Job" scheduled for release this coming fall. The painting is by artist George Conde, who has been somewhat busy in the past few months! In addition to working with West, Conde has also recently collaborated with Adam Kimmel on Kimmel's fall/winter 2010 collection in which the designer sourced inspiration from the characters in Conde's paintings. Prosthetic artist Gabe Bartalos, known for his work with Matthew Barney, made masks of Conde's characters for a shoot of Kimmel's collection. The single, streaming now at Kanye's website, is due out on June 8th.

Embroidered Lanvin Cufflinks

Popping up on fashion blogs everywhere, these Lanvin cufflinks are hard to ignore. And why would you want to? You don't have to stop there, either. These little elephants and ponies have a tie pin counterpart. Lanvin hasn't stopped with spring for their embroidered accessories either; Lanvin's fall 2010 collection includes some slightly darker but still whimsical cufflinks and matching tie pins.

Philippe de Montebello's Gold

Last night at The National Arts Club President O. Aldon James honored Philippe de Montebello with the presentation of the sixth Gold Medal of Honor for Excellence in Presenting French Culture. Having served 31 years as Director of The Metropolitan Museum Rosamond Bernier put if best when she equated de Montebello's introduction to that of the Mona Lisa. In addition to a thoughtful reflection from the honoree highlights included congratulatory words from Dr. Ruth Westheimer and and a show-stopping ensemble (complete with Rodarte stockings) from Stacy Engman.

Lisa Eisner's "Psychonauts"

With work inspired by New Age spirituality, nature and what she calls "ooga booga stuff," Lisa Eisner's new show "Psychonaut" takes the viewer through a collection of the photographer's work through the past four years. The former Vogue and Mademoiselle editor's work delights the viewer through the use of photo collage, scent sculptures, and a geodesic dome. Eisner collaborated with furniture designer Matt Monroe and perfume designer Haley Alexander van Oosten to execute this sensory experience. Eisner's show is running through June 5 at M+B Gallery in Los Angeles.

Vik Muniz: Born In Brazil

Friday evening at Espasso in Tribeca Tony Chambers of Wallpaper* Magazine along with Carlos Jereissati of IGUATEMI sipped caipirinhas with friends including Ana Beatriz Barros to celebrate the launch of the magazine's Born in Brazil issue. Dedicated to the country's creativity the magazine tapped native artist Vik Muniz to design the limited edition June cover.
