Marco Brambilla & Kanye Team Up

Kanye West has been keeping audiences on the edge of their seats waiting for his new album to drop. He's let us hear the first single, pushed the release date back, changed the album's title, and even gotten a Twitter account to let us know when he's listening to the album that we're eagerly awaiting (and to talk about his hatred of sharing elevators).

Kanye has teamed up with artist and film director Marco Brambilla to produce a video of epic proportions for "Power," the first single off the album. According to the enthusiastic new Tweet-er, his video collaboration with Brambilla will not be any mere video—it will be a "painting." Brambilla has created a lush work that draws inspiration from Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel. And, let's face it, Kanye is no stranger to artist collaborations, so this should be fantastic. The rap icon has worked with Takashi Murakami and KAWS, and painter George Conde recently created art for "Power."

You can watch a clip of Kanye and Brambilla's video painting on MTV on Thursday, August 5 at 11 PM.

The Face of Kanye's New Single: Provided by George Conde

Kanye West just released the artwork for his new single "Power" off of his album "Good Ass Job" scheduled for release this coming fall. The painting is by artist George Conde, who has been somewhat busy in the past few months! In addition to working with West, Conde has also recently collaborated with Adam Kimmel on Kimmel's fall/winter 2010 collection in which the designer sourced inspiration from the characters in Conde's paintings. Prosthetic artist Gabe Bartalos, known for his work with Matthew Barney, made masks of Conde's characters for a shoot of Kimmel's collection. The single, streaming now at Kanye's website, is due out on June 8th.
